Dig-It towable backhoes

Dig-IT

This American make of towable backhoe started out in the 1980's like so many of its European competitors. Dig-It realised that there was a need for a smaller excavator that could be used in gardens and on smaller projects. Their machines were also popular with hire companies.

As far as I know the machines were still in production as late as 2010 as part of the Feterl Manufacturing Corp. However this companies assets were sold off in 2010 and at the time of writing the Dig-It no longer seems to be available new. Searching online there are no websites selling the machine that I can find.

As well as the towable backhoe, Dig It also produced a very nice compact tractor based loader backhoe. Typically machines were fitted with Onan or Kohler engines.

Dig-IT

Later Dig-It models had drive to the front wheels and unique castor type rear wheels which made the machine highly manoeuvrable.
